[Press Release] BizCover Launches $12,000 Grant to Support Australia’s Trades Students

Sydney, 20 May 2026 –

  • BizCover to give away one $1,000 gift card per month.
  • The grant is aimed at apprentices and trainees undertaking a trade course.
  • Applicants enter by making a written submission.

BizCover, Australia’s number one online business insurance service, has announced the launch of its $12,000 Tools of the Trade Grant, a year-long initiative designed to support trade students across Australia with the cost of essential equipment.

The grant runs for 12 months until March 2027. Every month, BizCover will award one $1,000 gift card to help apprentices and trainees get the equipment they need to start their careers.

Open to Australian residents aged 18 and over who are currently undertaking a trade course at TAFE or a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), the grant aims to ease financial pressure and empower students to focus on building their skills.

“We know that getting started in a trade can come with significant upfront costs, particularly when it comes to tools and equipment,” says Brad Miller, the General Manager of BizCover. “This is especially true during the current cost of living crisis.”

“Through the Tools of the Trade Grant, we want to help support the next generation of skilled workers as they build their careers.”

To enter, applicants must submit a response outlining their need for tools, their commitment to completing their training, and how the grant would support their future career.

Winners are selected by a panel of BizCover judges based on the quality of their submission.

“This initiative reflects BizCover’s commitment to supporting small businesses and the future workforce of Australia,” says Miller. “By investing in students today, we’re helping set up stronger, more resilient businesses for tomorrow.”

Entries are open now, with one submission permitted per person for the duration of the competition.
