New Sapphire Coast business gets a $2000 head start

Riley Cumming, has been running Sapphire Coast Mobile Mechanic for only a few months but already the Merrimbula resident is winning.

The latest winner of BizGiver’s national grant, Riley beat out five other national finalists to win the prize valued at $2000.  His win will see him granted his wish for set-up tools and compressor and able to take his burgeoning business to the next level.

“It makes a huge difference winning this prize,” says Riley “I can now purchase [the] much needed tools and free up money for other business costs.”

Starting up a new business means a number of costs such as ABN registering, business name registration, licences and permits, stock/raw materials or inventory, insurance, rent, fit-out etc. and on top of that, you have the hard work and effort of finding customers and gaining your standing in the community.

“I am just starting out my business so I am doing all I can. I am servicing locals in the area for a competitive price and working hard to gain the community’s trust.”

It’s this type of hard work and effort that saw Riley be announced as a finalist and then winner of the grant.

BizCover, the owner of this grant program, is Australia’s top online business insurance service and started the program as a way to give back to the Small Business community that they hold dear.

“We have customers in nearly every type of business across Australia, it’s inspiring to see businesses like Riley and Sapphire Coast Mobile Mechanic start up,” states Michael Gottlieb, co-founder and Managing Director of BizCover “we want to honour that Aussie entrepreneurship that so often gets overlooked at the early stages and a grant like this can really be the boost they need to allow their business to grow.”

“I feel a sense of achievement for starting the business in the first place as it was something I never saw myself doing,” says Riley.

A wish will be granted by Bizcover.com.au bimonthly in the form of a specific product or service valued at up to $2000. Businesses must have a valid ABN to apply but don’t need to be an existing BizCover customer to enter.
