HELPFUL HAND TO CHILDERS LOCAL PET BUSINESS

Meet the latest winner of the Bizcover $60,000 ‘Small Business Buddy Program’ Grant

Small Business Buddy Winner

Queensland,February 17, 2015: Childers resident Hannah Broughton and her growing animal grooming and pet care business “Hannah’s Hand Pet Care & Grooming” have just won a $2000 grant in the latest round of Bizcover’s Small Business Buddy Program.

An avid animal lover, Hannah started her business (www.facebook.com/hannahshandypetcare) as a way of relieving stress by focusing on her passions and has found a fulfilling career along the way. Hannah now runs a thriving business and also enjoys the people she meets as much as her animal clients.

“The best thing about small business is getting to know each one of the clients personally, and being able to have a good chat with the owners, that wouldn’t be possible in a larger business setting.”
Hannah has successfully expanded her business to also include pet-grooming due to the high demand for her excellent care and attention.

“My business is the most fulfilling thing,” enthused Hannah, “It’s the most life-changing experience I will ever have.”

Her career is about to get even more life-changing, as Hannah has been granted her “Small Business Buddy” wish of an online professional accreditation course in pet grooming.

When asked about why she entered, Hannah responded, “I believe in having a go, and I thought, why not? I may even win!”

It’s an attitude the creators Bizcover.com.au admired, with Hannah being chosen as the January grant winner.

“Our success is due to the small business community, who have over the past seven years have embraced our online insurance services over more traditional methods of buying insurance. Having someone literally change their business capacity overnight with a $2000 grant is precisely what the Small Business Buddy Program is about,” said Michael Gottlieb, BizCover managing director, who has dedicated $60,000 towards the program (www.smallbusinessbuddy.com.au).

The program, launched in 2014, grants the wishes of small business application on a bi-monthly basis, as a way to give back to the Small Business Community that has supported BizCover. The wishes simply have to be a tangible item or service of up to $2000 value to be eligible.

Wishes have ranged from professional equipment, computers, machinery and in Hannah’s case a Certificate in Pet Grooming that will allow her to grow her business further and get qualified in a range of new services, such as grooming livestock for show and animal nutrition.

Winning this month’s wish will allow Hannah to advertise as a qualified pet groomer, “I will have a certification that I can proudly show off and will hopefully enable me to continue my business for years to come,” said Hannah.

A wish will be granted by Bizcover.com.au every second month in the form of a specific product or service valued at up to $2000.

Wishes can be made by any small business with ten employees or less.

Wishes can be submitted online via www.smallbusinessbuddy.com.au.
