BizCover adds Ando Insurance to its NZ business insurance platform

BizCover has expanded its product offering by adding Ando Insurance to its New Zealand business insurance platform, in a move that will give more choice to small businesses.

The Auckland-based insurer, underwritten by Hollard Insurance, has launched its Business Insurance pack, which offers competitive and comprehensive Material Damage and Business Interruption (MDBI) cover on the BizCover platform.

“Ando is a fantastic addition to our SME insurance platform,” says Jane Mason, BizCover’s Head of Product, Channels & Risk.  “Their initial offering adds a comprehensive alternative for our customers in an important line of cover, creating greater access to insurance for SMEs and contributing to competitive and stable pricing through contestability.”

Established in 2015, Ando Insurance is a relatively new player in the New Zealand insurance market, priding itself on its tech-driven capabilities.

“They definitely do things differently compared to existing, established markets. Perhaps that’s why they’ve experienced significant growth,” says Mason. “A lot of their channels are digitised, which fits in with our distribution model at BizCover.”

Ando is the third New Zealand insurer to join the BizCover platform, with both Dual and AIG offering a variety of small business products since the platform’s New Zealand launch in 2011.

BizCover has since sold over 57,000 policies in New Zealand across more than 1,000 occupations.

Founded on the principle of making business insurance easy, BizCover looks to simplify comparing and buying insurance for small business owners.

With its headquarters in Sydney, BizCover has operations in Australia, the US, and South Africa.

The company currently has 192,000 SMEs insured through its platform globally and has processed more than one million policies using its technology.
