To get started, can you please give a brief description of your business?
“For the past 20 years I’ve been running my own lawnmowing business, servicing both residential and commercial clients.”
What inspired you to start your own business?
“After working as a greenkeeper at a golf course for years, I realised I didn’t want to be a brown-nose for the rest of my working days, so I decided to strike out on my own – and 20 years later, business couldn’t be better.”
What is your favourite thing about your job?
“Simply put, it’s being my own boss, which affords me a lot more flexibility and time with my wife and 4 young boys, something that a typical job might make more difficult.”
What attracted you to purchasing your insurance through BizCover?
“To be honest, my wife, Kimberly – who also manages my books – took care of that for me.”

Finally, what advice would you give to someone looking to start their own business?
“Establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships is key. Always return calls from your clients, and always be sure to call if you think you’re going to be late or not make it to a job. Be open and transparent and they’ll be understanding, and you’ll have a stronger relationship because of it.”
