Paws & Relax, a dog day-care, training and grooming organisation, has won the 27th $2000 BizGiver Grant

As most small businesses can attest, it can be quite difficult to find the cash flow for the ever needed list of items.

For all the hard work and hours it can be easy to overlook the things that you may really need.

For Paws & Relax, a dedicated doggy day care, grooming and training facility, that much needed item was a new hydraulic dog bath.

“The current bath was purchased second hand when we opened and has helped us get started,” says co-director Di Bensley, “but with our growing clientele, it is now not efficient and is constantly breaking down.”

It’s a story that small business insurance provider BizCover sees all too often, and is at the core of why the BizGiver Small Business Grant was started.

The grant gives $2000 to a well-deserving business throughout the year, to go toward the purchase of that much needed item or service.

“We wanted to give back to the small business community that made our business possible,” explained BizCover co-founder and managing director,Michael Gottlieb, “so we started the BizGiver small business grant to give a little something back and to help small businesses owners alleviate the pressure and allow them to take their businesses to the next level.”

Paws&Relax was the latest winner of this grant, after rallying together their close-knit community to vote the business to the top.

The company was started when two of the business owners, who had been working for the RSPCA for a number of years, noticed a need for more positive, service- focused provider who was willing to partner and grow the community for dogs who had found their fur-ever homes.

Since its start in March 2014, it’s grown to 40 dogs in day-care daily, 855 active dog “parents” and over 1000 dogs in the system.

The new bath will allow them to grow their grooming services from its near capacity numbers and to increase the number of doggy clients.

“The purchase of the new bath for dog grooming will help us grow our small business and reduce the ongoing costs of repairs and maintenance on the existing bath,” said Bensley, “as well as assist our Pet Stylists from hurting their back, neck and shoulders when bathing the slippery or playful dogs.”

BizCover has now given away over $55,000 in small business grants to businesses just like Paws&Relax.

Grant items have included training courses, content production, laptops and tablets, display fridges, cameras, washing machines, coffee machines, toolboxes and more.

To win your small business wish of up to $2000 value, simply visit www.Smallbusinessbuddy.com.au or the BizCover Facebook Page and fill in the entry form to be in the running. The next round closes on the 2nd of December.
